Choose the Right Nickel Mesh Structure

• Woven nickel wire mesh: compare fine woven nickel wire mesh and large-aperture woven nickel mesh. Specify mesh count, wire diameter, weave and the required aperture together.
• Knitted nickel mesh: review knitted nickel mesh. Include the required shape and dimensions; for compressed components, define free and loaded thickness and the load condition.
• Sintered nickel mesh: review sintered nickel mesh. Provide the required layer arrangement, overall thickness and filtration or support requirements.
• Related porous sheet: use nickel fiber felt when the drawing calls for nickel fibers rather than woven openings. Compare nickel foam separately for an open-cell structure.

Information Needed for a Nickel Mesh Quotation

Send the material grade requirement, product structure, dimensions, quantity and drawing. For woven mesh, include mesh count and wire diameter or the target opening; for a formed or knitted component, include the finished shape and measurement conditions. Add any surface treatment, cut-edge, welding or inspection requirements.

Nickel Mesh Selection Questions

Does mesh count alone define the opening?

No. Wire diameter and weave also matter. Ask for the complete specification rather than comparing mesh count alone.

Can nickel felt or foam replace woven mesh?

Not automatically. Their structures differ. Confirm the required material form against the drawing and intended function.

Can you review a custom drawing?

Yes. Send the drawing and identify the dimensions and tolerances that are critical. The quotation will confirm the feasible specification and any limitations.
