Cylindrical Nickel Foam to Your Drawing
Specify the finished cylinder geometry and pore structure together. HuiRui supports custom nickel foam dimensions and cutting for porous components and research projects. Supply a dimensioned drawing so the proposed construction, tolerances and material can be confirmed before production.
Dimensions and Specification Checklist
- Outside diameter and axial length: provide both dimensions in millimetres, with required tolerances.
- Solid porous cylinder or hollow part: show any bore, inside diameter, wall thickness, slots or cut-outs on the drawing. Do not assume that all constructions are made by the same method.
- Construction: identify whether seams, layers or rolled-sheet construction are acceptable. The finished shape alone does not establish how the part is made.
- PPI and pore structure: give the requested pores per inch or reference sample. PPI is not an exact pore diameter and is separate from finished cylinder dimensions.
- Material: specify the required nickel grade. N6 nickel is listed in our product information; confirm the grade and documentation for the quoted part. Iron-nickel foam is a separate material option, not an equivalent substitute.
- Mass and compression: state target mass, density or compression conditions if important. For a part formed from sheet, also specify sheet thickness and areal mass.
- Application: describe the medium, temperature, mounting and coating requirements. Include the sample or production quantity for quotation.
Evaluate Fit and Material Behaviour
Custom cylindrical foam may be considered for porous supports, electrode experiments and other projects requiring a round three-dimensional geometry. Performance depends on the selected material, pore structure and operating conditions. A sample evaluation should check dimensional fit, handling, coating compatibility and any flow or compression requirements relevant to your assembly.
We review dimensional combinations individually. Feasible tolerances, inspection method, sample terms, price and lead time are confirmed in the quotation; there is no universal sheet-size minimum order for a cylindrical part.
Cylindrical Nickel Foam FAQ
What dimensions should I send?
Send outside diameter × axial length. If the part is hollow, add inside diameter or wall thickness. Include a drawing for holes, steps, slots or other features.
Can I specify pore size instead of PPI?
Yes, provide the requirement and measurement method, or a reference sample. We will review how it relates to the available pore structure; PPI should not be converted into a guaranteed single pore diameter.
Can I request a small research sample?
Send your target specification and test purpose. Sample feasibility and commercial terms are reviewed for the part, rather than applying a standard 200 × 300 mm sheet condition.
